Maui Powerhouse Gym under new ownership | News, Sports, Jobs
Maui Powerhouse Gym is under new ownership at the Azeka Shopping Center after being in business in Kihei for 13 years.
The new owners, led by longtime gym manager and now co-owner Logan Peitscher, aim to make improvements, including more fitness classes, exercise equipment and updated facilities.
The changeover of ownership became official Jan. 22. Ownership partners also include Sam Dahlkvist and Peter Shenkin.
“The new owners are committed to spearheading a new era for the gym by reinvesting in the facility, expanding access to membership and continuing to give community members a place to unlock their fitness and wellness potential,” the announcement says.
Peitscher said: “As members of the local community, we are thrilled to now be business owners of a mainstay in Kihei. We are invested in the success of our members getting optimal wellness benefits from our gym. Whether a long-standing member or just joining us, we take pride in being a familiar fitness hub for residents.”
Peitscher added that plans for the gym’s improvements this year were tailored to feedback received from members, and upgrades would “combine what is familiar with what is modern.”
“I think people will be impressed by the changes, and how attractive and functional the gym will be as a whole,” he said.
The gym’s focus will be on lifestyle, innovation and community, the announcement says.
The gym will participate in the “Active and Fit” and “Silver and Fit” programs that provide participating members with discounts and rewards — up to a free annual gym membership.
Maui Powerhouse Gym was originally launched in 2005. Aside from fitness equipment, the 12,300-square-foot gym offers saunas, child-minding services and exercise classes.
The facility is at 1279 S. Kihei Road, Suite 118.
