She was born on December 18, 1986, in London alongside her twin sister, Kessiana. Her mother, Juliana Edewor, is an interior designer and art collector from Delta State in Nigeria, while her father, Hugh Thorley, is a British man. Her parents got divorced when she was young and have both remarried.

She had her primary education at St. Saviour’s School and Grange School before moving back to the United Kingdom where she attended the Benenden School for Girls. Eku holds a degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies from the Warwick University in Coventry, England. She also took up a three-month course in acting at the New York Film Academy to hone her acting skills.

Eku made her television debut when she competed in ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’ in 2006 under the name ‘Georgina Edewor-Thorley’. Her first job at the entertainment industry was with the producer ‘Damian Jones’ as his personal assistant. She also featured in the television series ‘The Island’ as Sade Coker in 2012. She also landed her first major film role in the romantic comedy film ‘Flower Girl’ in 2013.

She returned to Nigeria in 2009 following her stepfather’s death. She worked in her mother’s restaurant, the Chardonnay Restaurant and Bar, so her mother could place her focus on the growth of her interior design.

She attended an open audition for co-presenter on M-NET’s entertainment show, 53 Extra, five months after she returned. Since she got the job, she has hosted several shows including the Pepsi Top Ten Countdown in 2012. Eku also co-hosted the Big Brother Africa All Stars red carpet in 2010.
