In 2021, Mexican-Australian star Inde Navarrette appeared on "Superman & Lois," playing Sarah Crushing. Now, fans are curious to know more about the rising star. Who is she, and what does she love doing?

Born to a first-generation Australian mom and a Mexican dad, Navarette moved around a lot as a teenager. By the time she was 15, she'd already been to 11 different schools.

And while that kind of residential mobility would cause lower academic performance or deviant behavior, Navarette saw it as an opportunity to meet new people and create lasting friendships.

INCLINED TOWARDS ACTING FROM THE START

Since she was young, her mother's side of the family loved watching the Academy Awards. She also loved watching movies with her cousins and soon realized she wanted to become an actor.

Breaking into the industry was not an easy fit for Navarrette. At one point, someone told her to lie about her ethnicity to land a role, something she says, while uncomfortable, is a common occurrence in Hollywood. She says:

"There are a lot of nos in this business, and you have to be really stubborn. I've always had this fast-track mindset that's allowed me to look past the nos and go after anything that I put my mind to with every fiber of my being."

However, with her persistence and ability to always go for what she wanted, she landed a role as Ellie in "Wander Darkly," where she appears alongside Diego Luna and Sienna Miller. The drama film premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.

The 20-year-old appears to have more luck than many emerging actors as she'd already booked her next TV show while filming "13 Reasons Why."

She finally landed her breakout role as Sarah Cushing in the superhero drama "Superman & Lois." In the series that premiered on February 13, 2021, her character plays a young, heartbroken girl who tries to heal herself and challenges those around her to be better.

Speaking to Contrast Magazine, Navarrette disclosed that she resonated well with the role because her circumstances forced her to grow up fast, just like Sarah. She says she admires her character's resilience and tenacity in wanting her family to be happy and whole again.

Her other film credits include playing Veronica in the Snapchat original series "Denton's Death Date." She also appeared in "Cross Words Together" and "Cranberry Nights."
